red

Christmas and New Year's are over, and it seems the appeal of winter is gone with them. I'm cold all the time, and it can be hard to stay cheerful when every morning I wake up to endless miles of snow.

But just because it's practically Antarctica outside, doesn't mean I can't enjoy myself. I've been surrounding myself with my friends, and we've spent some days inside watching horror movie after horror movie, and others, outside braving the cold. There's a sort of beauty to the frost covered buildings and streets, and feeling the air so fresh and sharp can make you feel alive.

I ventured out with my friend today, who snapped some pictures for me. I've been loving my boyfriend jeans lately, because I feel like they add an edge to any outfit, and pairing them with a bright red top took my outfit from boring to bold.

Hope you're all having a lovely week. Keep your heads up, the winter can't last forever. xx

layers

With the weather growing colder, I find myself resorting to layers on layers. Cardigans are my favourite, and I love pairing them with a knitted scarf. This one has been my most recent love - it was a steal at Urban, on sale for half off!

I've been spending my time lately working on art projects and adventuring with friends. It's finally Christmas break, and I'm excited to finally relax. Most days you'll probably be able to find me huddled in a giant sweater and a mess of covers, pouring over my favourite books and magazines, watching the snow falling outside.

chicago

This past week, one of my classes took a trip to Chicago, my favourite city. I was so glad to be back, and the rainy day made it even more beautiful. Something about a rain-soaked downtown is magical to me. The puddles reflecting the headlights. The whirl of colourful heels and umbrellas. The tops of buildings disappearing into the clouds.

We saw lots of art and explored some of the coolest parts of the city. It was an exhausting day, but even as I got back on the train to go home, I felt myself wishing that I was staying and living out my dream in the streets of Chicago. One day, I know I'll live there, but for now these visits will have to do.

sweater weather

It's been sooo long since I've posted, and I'm really sorry. I've been caught up with the whirl of senior year, and so many things have already happened. I've been busy with work, homecoming, looking at colleges, and classes on top of that!

But I'm back, and I hope things will calm down now that I'm back in the groove of things. Today my friend and I took a Sunday adventure to town, and hung out on campus at the college I hope to attend next year. We had fruit smoothies, spicy wings, and cold vanilla ice-cream. We're total foodies!

I'm so glad that the weather is turning colder. I love sweater weather! I can't wait to bundle up and layer layer layer.
